Wish Season

What do you want from this season?
a time all make wishes,
For no real nor special reason,
The wild beast of desire under no leash.

Desire for what can only be held,
The want of what we want owned.
Crucial reasons gone into naught,
Oblivion for that which should be felt.

Tis hours like this, days from the celebration
One should sit, think!
What's to be chased and what shouldn't,
What's not lost that we find.

Alas! tis rare to see such thoughts.
These lot I know, care little for truth
The heart's joy they care less
Being able to do, they ignore

They deserve no blame, only need enlightened,
Life's joy; more important to desire.
